The Millennium Mural Project was started in 1999 with a grant from the National Endowment of the Arts. The first mural completed was "The Peace Wall," a collaboration between muralist Chrissie Orr and students at Miller County Middle School. Today there are 16 murals around Colquitt, delighting travelers and locals alike.

The Colquitt Miller Arts Council now offers guided mural tours, which go out regularly on show days, and at other times by appointment. Tours visit 14 of the 16 murals.

There are three ways to take your tour (all tours last about 1 hour):

By Tram: Our brand new mural tram holds 12 people comfortably, and is wheelchair accessible.
By foot: Most of our murals are within easy walking distance of Cotton Hall, and on a lovely day a mural tour makes for a pleasant stroll about town. Great for groups of more than 12 (this can be combined with a tram tour, for groups that want to walk but have members with lower mobility).
By bus: If your group is coming in on a tour bus, our tour guide would be happen to join you on the bus. This option is also great for larger groups.
Mural tours are just $5 per person. Reservations are strongly recommended. Please call 229-758-5450 or e-mail Elizabeth Moulton at elizabeth@swampgravy.com today to book your tour!
