Celebrate Mardi Gras in Tybee Island at the 5th Annual Mardi Gras Tybee Feb. 7-9, 2013. Arrive early for parties on Thursday and Friday night, and join the crowd Saturday for a free parade and street party.
On Thursday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m., Coco's Sunset Grille will host the King Cake Party. Dance to live music by Crazy Man Crazy, and enjoy Cajun food and drink specials.
On Friday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m., Fannie's on the Beach will host NOLA Night: Mardi Gras Kick-Off Party. Taste a variety of Cajun dishes from the Big Easy buffet, and listen to live music by Voodoo Soup. $15 in advance and $18 at the door.
The Mardi Gras Street Party, which is free and open to the public, takes place Saturday, Feb. 9 from noon to 6 p.m. The party features live Zydeco, blues and rock music from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thrilling street performances will entertain revelers as they enjoy the festival and colorful businesses in the area.
The 2013 Mardi Gras Tybee Parade, with colorful floats, plenty of beads and marching bands, begins Saturday at 2 p.m. A group wedding vow renewal service will take place on the main stage at 3 p.m. "Re-do I dos" are $10 per couple.
