If you have ever wondered about the origin of plant names, this lecture is for you. Linda Copeland will speak about her book "Legends in the Garden" co-authored with Allan Armitage. The engaging book introduces 46 people and places associated with popular garden plants. It combines accounts of the lives of the individuals with the descriptions of plants that bear their names and the stories of their discoveries or development.
Linda Copeland began her studies in horticulture at UGA in 1992. She lives and gardens in Atlanta and is involved with the Georgia Perennial Plant Association, Southeastern Flower Show, Gardens for Peace, Cherokee Garden Library and also coordinates garden tours abroad for Garden Vistas.
The event is supported by the Nola M. Falcone Charitable Foundation as part of the Sacred Heart Garden Festival, which is present by Taylor BMW. All proceeds benefit Sacred Heart Cultural Center.
