The Battle of Tunnel Hill Civil War Reenactment presents living history and battle action during this annual event held the weekend after Labor Day. Set on the historic grounds of the Clisby Austin House and adjacent to the Western and Atlantic Railroad Tunnel, the weekend brings to life the significant era of history during the War Between the States.
Visitors can walk through the period encampments, talk with reenactors, shop in the sutler tents, and be eyewitness to the gun fire, cavalry charge and troops on the ground as they authentically depict the Civil War.
On-site concessions are available, and parking is free.
A period ball with live music by the 8th Georgia Regiment Band is held on Saturday night with the warm sounds and graceful moves of reenactors as they engage in the social life of the 1860s. The ball is free and open to spectators; only those in period dress may participate in dance.
