Chattahoochee RiverWalk
Navigate the shores of the river on the Chattahoochee Riverwalk. By foot or on bike, you will skirt the cityscape, examine historic monuments and markers, and take in the wild beauty of the rolling river and native wildlife. This 15-mile linear park spans the riverfront from the Lake Oliver city marina south to the National Infantry Museum.
The relationship between Columbus and the Chattahoochee predates written history. Spanish explorers told about the falls nearby. The Native Americans' most extensive trading center was here.
Geocachers can take on the RiverWalk GeoTour, the first of its kind in the world, with 31 challenging geocaches with collector game pieces, including three coins.
Everyone is invited to raft the longest urban whitewater course in the world on the Chattahoochee River, or watch from the riverwalk as rafters shoot the rapids. Check in with the Columbus CVB for details.
