Chatham County Line will perform at the Belle Meade Country Club on April 11, 2013, at 8 p.m. as part of the "New Harmonies: Celebrating American Roots Music" event in Thomson. This event is free and open to the public.
Bluegrass music has its roots in old country music and spirituals. It is some of the oldest American folk music around and is currently enjoying a big resurgence with music fans with bands like the Punch Brothers, Mumford & Sons and Chatham County Line. This Raleigh, N.C.-based string band performs bluegrass the old fashioned way: crowded around a single microphone.
