The University of North Georgia (UNG) was formed through the consolidation of North Georgia College & State University and Gainesville State College, two of the top-performing schools in the University System of Georgia, in January 2013. Positioned in the fastest-growing region of the state, UNG comprises four campuses united by a single mission focused on academic excellence and academic and co-curricular programs that develop students into leaders for a diverse and global society.

The University of North Georgia is a University System of Georgia leadership institution and is The Military College of Georgia. With about 16,000 students, the University of North Georgia is the state's sixth-largest public university. The university offers more than 100 programs of study ranging from certificate and associate degrees to professional doctoral programs.

The Oconee Campus, located in Watkinsville, Ga., is only a few miles from Athens, Ga. All campus tours must be scheduled.

    The University of North Georgia Oconee Campus will have the exhibit, Flight Path by artist Jeanne Whatley, on display from September 6 through October 11. Whatley's work explores the role of hope in the human condition and considers, with interest and wonder, those who move along uncertain paths, toward unknowable futures.     University of North Georgia Visiting Author- Dacre Stoker

    Dacre Stoker is the great grand-nephew of Bram Stoker and the co-author of Dracula the Un-Dead, the official Stoker family endorsed sequel to Dracula. Dacre is also the co-editor of The Lost Journal of Bram Stoker: The Dublin Years. He will give a presentation, "Stoker on Stoker" on Thursday, September 28, 2017, at UNG Oconee Campus. Published with illustrated never-before-published, seldom seen historic images, Stoker On Stoker is a glimpse behind the scenes of Bram Stoker and Dracula.
