Historic Madison, renowned for having one of the largest and oldest National Register of Historic Districts, will celebrate the 2013 spring season in grand style on May 3-4, 2013, with the region's most popular tour event: the Madison in May Spring Tour of Homes and Gardens, sponsored by the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center. At the Madison in May Spring Tour, visitors will experience the living history of Madison while strolling through a collection of seven of the city's finest, architecturally significant private homes (c.1830 - 2001) and intimate gardens that are rarely open to the public. Several historic churches also will be included on the tour. Together, the grand stuctures and gardens tell the astonishing story of a genteel, gracious city that was spared the torch and devestation of Sherman's 1864 March to the Sea.
This is a self-guided tour, within walking distance of the Cultural Center. Visit www.mmcc-arts.org for a list of homes on tour.
