Stone Mountain Village will host its 4th annual Blue Grassroots Music & Arts Festival on Saturday and Sunday, March 23-24, 2013, on Main Street in the Village. The event will showcase 65 professional and self-taught artists and artisans along with some of the best bluegrass and old-time music talent in the region. Performances from about 20 bluegrass and old-time bands will perform throughout the day on two stages.
Band contests will take place at the ART Station on Manor Drive. Folk, contra and swing dancing performances and instruction also will take place throughout the two-day festival. The event will feature fun and tasty foods, as well as a kid's play area. All bluegrass and old-time musicians are encouraged to bring instruments and jam along with other musicians in "Jam Spots" located throughout town.
