Quiet back roads, beautiful rural scenery and little elevation change make the Jim Kruse Century a fun and family friendly bike ride. The rides offered are a 25-, 50-, 65-, and a continuous 100-mile option. All routes are mapped, marked and well-sagged. Pre-registered riders receive a T-shirt, ride packet, map, emergency vehicle support and post-ride lunch.
Ride cost: $30 each rider. Note: There is a $5 late fee for walk-ups. Make checks payable to Southern Cyclists.
The ride was named to honor Jim Kruse's legacy of inspiring people to be active at any age. Jim began cycling at the age of 76 and used the activity as a weapon against aging and immobility. The ride is organized to benefit the Silver Lining Club, a respite program for those suffering from Alzheimer's Disease and dementia.
