Compete in this tournament, honoring the life of General Robert L. Scott, Jr., at Healy Point Country Club on April 12, 2013. The Scott golf tournaments to raise money for the Museum of Aviation started in 1997 while Gen. Scott was still active at the museum, greeting visitors, speaking at fundraisers and answering letters everyday. The 2006 tournament became the 1st annual memorial tournament to honor his memory.
Gen. Robert L. Scott, Jr. would have been 105 years old this April 12, and he almost made it. The larger-than-life pilot, adventurer and patriot from Macon died two months short of his 98th birthday seven years ago, Feb. 26, 2006. Many thought he would live to be 100. He seemed invincible, ageless and always ready for more adventure. But time has passed, and many might not realize how much he meant to the Museum of Aviation and Middle Georgia and what he did for America during World War II.
