Dance the Dream ATL is a flash mob dance event in Atlanta on Aug. 28, 2013, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech. To participate, register at https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Dream-at-50/303873089647845, then bring your confirmation ticket to Centennial Park the day of the event.
At Centennial Olympic Park and around the world a series of flash mob dances will take place. Each event is spearheaded by a nationally recognized choreographer Jeffrey Page. Every locality will perform two dances: one to a music selection used by all of the choreographers and another to music that is exclusive for the venue, reflecting its distinctive culture and civil rights legacy.
The dance events will be streamed on YouTube as well as broadcast on digital billboards in select public squares on the anniversary. A compilation video featuring highlights of the dances will be released on YouTube, with a feature documentary to follow.
