The Appalachian Trail offers unparalleled opportunities to explore, experience and connect with nature. Extending some 75 miles through the Chattahoochee National Forest, the Georgia section of the trail is the most rugged and difficult, but also spectacularly beautiful.  Be sure to pass through Vogel State Park, one of Georgia’s oldest state parks located at the base of Blood Mountain. Treat yourself to a night in the secluded Blood Mountain Cabins, with fantastic mountain views.  On your trek, stop at Mountain Crossings and visit the Boot Museum, maybe leaving yours behind as a reminder of your journey. The Trail passes through the building, making this the only covered portion of the 2100 mile trail! The southern terminus of this 2,176-mile footpath is in Georgia at Springer Mountain.
