The Masters Tournament, the world’s most prestigious golf tournament, takes place April 8-14, 2013, at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta. Since the tournament was first held in 1934, many men have competed for the coveted green jacket; past winners include Ben Hogan, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods. Although tickets to the event are extremely difficult to come by, practice-round tickets can be secured through a lottery system. Please visit the Masters website for more information on tickets.

If you can’t get tickets to this highly sought-after sporting event, Augusta still has great attractions to keep you busy while you aren’t glued to Masters TV coverage. Start by touring the Augusta Canal National Heritage Area for some insight into Augusta’s historical importance to the state of Georgia.

The Partridge Inn, originally built in 1892 and recently renovated, will serve as the perfect place to lay your head during your stay in Augusta. The Inn’s on-site restaurant, the Verandah Grill, has been featured in Southern Living magazine and The Miami Herald and is sure to satisfy your taste buds during your visit.
