Eat Like a Pro at these Atlanta Stadiums
Love food? How about sports? Both? Whether you're a hard core sports fan or just go to the games to hit the concession stands, you're in for the game of your life. Atlanta has two great stadiums that boast a long list of high-end restaurants turned concession stands for you to choose from.
Truist Park
Baseball fans will enjoy watching their favorite MLB teams play ball at the new Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves, while enjoying a foodie home run with cuisine offerings from chicken to waffles. Georgia favorites Waffle House and Chick-fil-A are on site to offer up fan favorites like pecan waffles, Texas Philly cheesesteaks, the ever-popular hashbrowns (scattered and covered), ice cold lemonade and fried spicy chicken sandwiches.
The Coors Chop House lives on at the park. Wet your whistle at this Braves fan favorite hot spot at one of its two large patios overlooking the right field or at the Below the Chop restaurant.
Georgia restaurateur, cookbook author and "Top Chef" judge Hugh Acheson unveils his ballpark-inspired First & Third Hot Dog & Sausage Shack. Here, you can sample high-quality sausages like andouille and merguez as well as "dressed up" hot dog classics. For those interested in trying something a little out of the ordinary, give Gu's Dumplings a try. And cool your palate with an ice cream cone from High Road Craft Ice Cream or a fruity icy treat from King of Pops.
Truist Park also has a "Farm to Fan" food initiative, sourcing concession refreshments from more than 40 Atlanta-based restaurants and food service companies. These will use available local ingredients that change with the season.
Mercedes-Benz Stadium
If football is more your thing, you're in luck, too. The new Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home of the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United FC offers culinary touchdowns from 15 restaurant partners. Expect gourmet goodies like fully dressed "dogs" from Delia’s Chicken Sausage; burgers and chili dogs from The Varsity, an Atlanta icon since 1928; and signature items from Fox Bros Bar-B-Q like smoked wings, pulled pork sandwiches and Frito pie.
There also are riffs on American classics from restaurateur and celebrity chef Kevin Gillespie at his concession stand Gamechanger and Southern favorites overlooking the field at Molly B's Cookhouse. For those with a sweet tooth, indulge in pralines and flavored popcorn at Miss D’s Popcorn, or enjoy a frosty treat from Bruster’s Real Ice Cream. For fans of a certain age, you can also enjoy local craft beers and signature cocktails made with Georgia spirits.
If sports aren't your thing, but you still love great food, you'll be happy to know that these concession stands also have restaurants in Greater Metro Atlanta: Antico Pizza, Bruster’s Real Ice Cream, Chick-fil-A, Delia's Chicken Sausage, Farm Burger, Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q, Jim ‘N Nick's Bar-B-Q, Miss D’s Popcorn, Sublime Doughnuts, The Varsity and Waffle House.
