The excitement is building as the third Annual African Film Festival Atlanta, powered by The African Film & Arts Foundation Inc., gears up for its highly anticipated run from September 21st – September 25th, and October 7th – 8th, 2023 as a hybrid format, seamlessly integrating both virtual and physical experiences across diverse locales within the metro Atlanta area. The in-person screenings will take place at The Auburn Avenue Research Library on African American Culture and History, Tara Cinemas, and Studio Movie Grill in Alpharetta. This year’s festival promises an extraordinary cinematic experience that celebrates the rich tapestry of African and diasporic stories, cultures, and voices.

The themes explored in the films submitted this year range from migration, the Chibok girls, being African in America, LGBTQ+ stories from the continent, and child trafficking for war. The Festival received 150 film submissions from 33 different countries. Out of these, a carefully chosen collection of 65 films will be showcased during the 2023 edition.
