Perhaps Georgia’s most well-known eagles live in Rome at Berry College, home to a family of bald eagles. Children and adults can keep track of the family through the college’s webcam, featuring live video of the nest of the birds.
Chattahoochee Nature Center
Acres of land on the banks of the Chattahoochee River are a refuge for numerous birds, including eagles. The Chattahoochee Nature Center hosts festivals and events throughout the year, including the Flying Colors Butterfly Festival.
Elachee Nature Science Center
Nestled halfway between Lake Lanier and downtown Gainesville, the Elachee Nature Science Center provides a learning experience for young and old. From rocks to raptors, there is always something to explore, especially at the annual Raptor Fest, when you can see a number of birds of prey, including a bald eagle.
Center for Wildlife Education
At the Center for Wildlife Education on the campus of Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, visitors are welcome to view live wild animals throughout its 17 acres. The destination is home to two bald eagles, Freedom and Glory, as well as a golden eagle named Phoenix.
