Henry County Treasure Hunt app
How the App Works
Once downloaded, users choose from five different types of adventures: hidden gems, homegrown, historic, wild adventures or assorted treasures. In each section, there are several attractions to visit. Check in at each location to garner gold for your quest. Earn enough gold, and enter to win some pretty awesome prizes like a helicopter ride in an Army AH-1F Cobra attack helicopter at the Army Aviation Heritage Foundation; a Walk on the Wild Side tour and Keeper for a Day at Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary; or a Tanger Outlets shopping spree.
Our Favorite Spots
Even if you don’t complete all the quests, the app is a fun way to answer the question, “What is there to do in Henry County?” A few of our favorites include Southern Belle Farm and Heritage Park Veterans Museum. Southern Belle is 330-acre working farm with so many family-friendly activities the kids will never want to leave. Heritage Park Veterans Museum is a hidden gem for military aficionados or anyone interested in American history from World War I through the present.
Where to Grab a Bite
Hunting for treasure can make you hungry. For some down-home flavor, you can’t miss the Original Shane’s Rib Shack for some mouthwatering BBQ. Save some room for the peach cobbler, too. For something a little more upscale, try the French Market & Tavern in Historic Downtown Locust Grove. While you’re there, pick up a little something for your house in the market. Traditionalists will enjoy a house-made burger from Burger Theory, located in the Holiday Inn and Suites in Stockbridge.
