Lookout Mountain

One of the top things to do in Lookout Mountain is exploring Rock City, where you can stroll through magical rock formations, lush gardens, and trails that lead to Lover’s Leap, a lookout point with panoramic views that are said to reach seven states on a clear day. The gardens also feature Fairyland Caverns and seasonal events. Hike or bike picturesque trails around Lula Lake Land Trust, which features waterfalls and overlooks. More epic views await at Cloudland Canyon State Park on the western edge of Lookout Mountain, plus you can glide through the skies at Lookout Mountain Flight Park. The best time to visit Lookout Mountain is in spring or fall when temperatures are mild, the air is clear and the scenery is especially beautiful. Spring brings blooming wildflowers, while fall offers stunning foliage on the mountain trails. Summers can be warm and humid, while winters are cooler, with fewer crowds.

Lookout Mountain is in mountainous northwestern Georgia, along its northern border, over 100 miles from Atlanta and near the city of Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Visitors flying to Lookout Mountain can use Chattanooga Airport (CHA) for quick access, located about 10-15 miles away. Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL) is the nearest major international hub, about a 2-hour drive away.
