Dedicated to raising appreciation for the first permanent capital of the State of Georgia, Friends of Historic Downtown Louisville works independently and alongside like-minded organizations to design and implement events and programs to showcase this gem of small town, Southern life. As its flagship program, Friends created and operates The Fire House Gallery for exhibition of the very best of Southern and rural art in the beautifully restored historic Louisville fire station. In addition, Friends has developed an historic plaques program to celebrate downtown Louisville's historic buildings and designed. Friends partners with the Arts Guild of Jefferson County, the Jefferson County Historical Society, and the Louisville Lions Club to support important community celebrations.
