The Wright Hotel, 201 E. Market Street in Chatsworth, was built by Thomas and Laura Wright and first opened for business in 1909. The hotel was built as a resort that attracted travelers from the north and south who came to Chatsworth in the summer to drink the mineral waters, enjoy the cool mountain breezes, and dine on home cooking. People from all walks of life such as jurors, schoolteachers, judges, politicians, and honeymooners spent time at the hotel, which was also the home of the Wright family. Many historic displays and memorabilia may be viewed at the hotel, including the rock at the bottom of the stairs where mail for the guests was placed and the seven-foot bath tub in which Mr. Wright was baptized. Mr. Wright's daughter, Kate Wright Raine, left the Wright Hotel to the historical society upon her death in 1986.

The Wright Hotel is open for special occasions and events. To make arrangements for group tours, call 706-695-4313. The site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
