The most recognizable site in Madison County is the old courthouse, which stands on the courthouse square in Danielsville, Georgia. Also listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it is one of Georgia's most ornate courthouses. Built in 1901, it was designed by the J. W. Golucke and Company. It was used continuously as a courthouse and county offices from 1901 until 1996. In 1996, the Madison County Courts moved to a new courthouse a short distance away. In about 2003-2004, the old courthouse was rehabilitated and is the current home to the Madison County Chamber of Commerce.
