The cemetery contains many names from Decatur, DeKalb and Georgia history, including politicians, educations, authors, doctors, musicians and solders from every war from the American Revolution to contemporary conflicts.

A self-guided Walking Tour map and brochure is available year round. Alternatively, tours are conducted throughout the spring and summer by Friends of Decatur Cemetery volunteers.
