In 1981, music fans gathered in Central Park to witness the now legendary reunion of the folk duo Simon & Garfunkel. The Parks Department originally expected about 300,000 attendees. Although rain fell throughout the day and continued until the start of the concert, an estimated 500,000 audience members made this the seventh-largest concert attendance in the United States history.
Award-winning recording artists, Lee Lessack and Johnny Rodgers recreate that magical night in this live concert event. With dulcet vocals harmonizing over lilting guitar, you’ll hear all the beloved poetic masterpieces that made Simon & Garfunkel famous: “Mrs. Robinson,” “Homeward Bound,” “Scarborough Fair,” “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” “The Sound of Silence,” and many more. These are not impressions or an impersonation of Simon & Garfunkel, but a recreating the same music from that magical night in Central Park using the original set-list. Featuring award-winning singers Lee Lessack and Johnny Rodgers. Accompanied by a full band with Johnny Rodgers on piano and guitar.
