Super Bowl Spawns Plenty of Big-Name Music Tie-In Events

Maroon5’s halftime show at Super Bowl LIII isn’t the only Super Bowl-related musical performance taking place in Atlanta that weekend. There are loads of other shows and festivals happening around the city in the preceding days and nights, with lots of big names. Here are a few of them.

Shaquille O’Neal is behind Shaq’s Fun House, a carnivalesque event for adults taking place at The Battery Atlanta on Friday, Feb. 1, 2019. Along with Cirque Du Soleil performers, complimentary food and an open bar, attendees will be treated to sets from Migos, Tiesto, Diplo, Lil Jon, T-Pain and more. More info: shaqsfunhouse.com.

The Bud Light Super Bowl Music Fest is a three-night series of concerts at State Farm Arena Jan. 31-Feb. 2. Night one will be an all-Atlanta rap fest featuring Ludacris, Migos, Lil Yachty, Lil Baby, Metro Boomin and a DJ set by Lil Jon. Aerosmith and Post Malone will pair off on Friday, Feb. 1, with Bruno Mars and Cardi B closing things out on Saturday, Feb. 2.

Super Bowl Live Presented by Verizon is a free, open-to-the-public fan village in Centennial Olympic Park, with selected musical performances curated by Jermaine Dupri. Goodie Mob will get things jumpin’ on Monday, Jan. 28, while DJ Smurf and the ATL Bass All Stars will rattle the air on Saturday, Feb. 2. Diplo, Jamie Foxx and Atlanta’s Future will all perform at the Maxim Big Game Experience Friday, Feb. 2 at The Fairmont, 1429 Fairmont Ave.

The 20th annual Super Bowl Gospel Celebration will take place on Thursday, Jan. 31 with a concert at Atlanta Symphony Hall featuring Kirk Franklin, Tasha Cobb Leonard, The Winans, Sounds of Blackness, Sheila E, The NFL Players Choir and more. The concert will air a few nights later on BET, Feb. 2 at 9 p.m. ET.

The Isley Brothers and Maze featuring Frankie Beverly will entertain at the Legends Live concert Friday, Feb. 1 at the Georgia International Convention Center in College Park. V-103’s Frank Ski will host, with Keke Wyatt also performing.

Miller Lite is presenting the Eli Young Band performing live at Sports & Social at The Battery Atlanta on Saturday, Feb. 2, at 7 p.m.

Finally, Foo Fighters and Run the Jewels will blow it out for the DIRECTV Super Saturday at Atlantic Station on Feb. 2. Tickets sold out quickly for this particular monster jam.
