Sunday, Mar 22, 2020 8:45 PM to 9:45 PM - Stephen C. Foster State Park - Fargo, GA - Watch for meteors, planets, observe the moon or take in all the stars above as we gaze upon a truly dark sky from deep within the Okefenokee. We will use both our unaided eyes and telescopes while we stargaze. Stephen C. Foster State Park is one of the darkest places in the Southeast due to a lack of light pollution in the Okefenokee Swamp.

Please park in the Trading post parking lot. Please minimize light use. Light, other than filtered red light, will drastically impact viewing. If you are specifically looking to visit on a night with the darkest sky, schedule your visit around a new moon or when the moon is not up at night. Park Gates close at 10:00 pm. If you are not staying on the park you must leave before gates close.
