Over 40 species of birds have been sighted within the forest, meadows, creeks and lake habitats.

Community Forest of the Old-Growth Forest Network
The preserve is one of seven in the United States.

Rain Gardens
Commercial and residential scale plots demonstrate methods of control for storm water and soil erosion.
