Hurricane Matthew Travel Information
The health and safety of our visitors is the highest priority for the entire Georgia tourism industry. We are doing everything possible to support our impacted guests and citizens to ensure they are safe during this significant weather event. There is a strong probability of storm surge and power outages along the length of the Georgia coast. Below you will find information on evacuation routes, lodging information, shelters and updates.

- The Georgia Visitor Information Centers in St Marys (I-95 North) and Savannah/Port Wentworth (I-95 South) are closed until further notice.
- As of 10 AM Thursday, Interstate I-16 in Georgia has been contraflowed (reversed). I-16 is currently open in the Westbound direction only; Eastbound travel is closed for hurricane evacuation. For updates on road conditions, routes and possible closures, visit www.511ga.org.
