Kodac Harrison Turns 70, Mixes It Up on New Double-Disc Set
Veteran Atlanta-based singer-songwriter Kodac Harrison has in recent years made a habit of releasing CDs of new songs alongside older favorites and/or new versions of older songs, knowing that much of his music released in the ’80s, ’90s and ’00s is now out of print. “I would try to make [the track listings of the CDs] stick together as best I could… For me, it was an attempt to make them flow as an album.”
The latest of these is titled "In Too Deep 2," a double-disc set compiling previously released studio recordings, live band recordings, a new song, a new version of one older song, and, finally, a new live spoken word piece.
The release of the album, as well as Kodac’s 70th birthday, will be celebrated with a special early show April 27, 2019, at Smith’s Olde Bar, from 6:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. Harrison will be joined by many of the musicians he’s played and recorded with over the years, as well as some of his favorite local poets.
