Numerous Georgia Acts Nominated for Billboard Music Awards
The full list of nominations for the 2019 Billboard Music Awards has been released, and there are quite a number of Georgians in the running.
The state continues to dominate in the country music genre, as superstar Jason Aldean (pictured) is up for Top Country Artist and Top Country Male Artist, while his "Rearview Town" is nominated for Top Country Album. Likewise for Northwest Georgia’s Kane Brown, up for Top Country Artist, Top Country Male Artist and Top Country album for his self-titled debut from 2016; also, his song “Heaven,” included on the deluxe edition of "Kane Brown," is nominated for Top Country Song. It’ll be competing against Florida Georgia Line’s team-up with Bebe Rexha, “Meant to Be,” in that category; FGL are nominated additionally for Top Country Artist and Top Country Duo/Group, while “Meant to Be” is also up for Top Radio Song. And Luke Bryan is in the running for Top Country Tour.
Atlanta rapper Lil Baby is nominated for Top New Artist, while Childish Gambino is up for Top R&B Tour. Finally, Jesup native Tasha Cobbs Leonard has been nominated for Top Gospel Artist.
Hosted by Kelly Clarkson, the 2019 Billboard Music Awards ceremony will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 1, 2019. NBC will air it live.
