*This is a rescheduled trip from our 2019 Stewardship Trips season, so there will be very limited space of new registrants. However, our 2020 Ossabaw Island Adventure is scheduled for November 6-8 and will open for registration to Georgia Conservancy members on September 1, 2020.

Join the Georgia Conservancy and the Ossabaw Island Foundation for a weekend service and education trip to Ossabaw Island on January 17-19, 2020. This trip is an incredibly rare opportunity to enjoy a primitive and remote barrier island, and to support its preservation by giving back with some elbow grease. Guests will do everything – landscaping, scrubbing and cleaning the historic structures, Hurricane Irma service work, etc. Guests can choose from 3 different lodging options including camping, clubhouse bunkbeds, or the VIP Boarding House. Guests will enjoy a weekend that includes ferry transportation, lodging, meals, an Ossabaw island tour, and much more.

Non-service related activities include a historical tour of island's North End settlement, a truck safari through the heart of the island, a late Saturday afternoon at the beach, crabbing, fishing, hiking, relaxing, etc.

Our headquarters for the weekend, the Clubhouse, will be the location for our prepared meals, housing for a majority of our weekend guests and a gathering place in the evenings for meetings and socializing. Relaxing on the Clubhouse wraparound porch, complete with rocking chairs and ceiling fans, is one of the best activities on Ossabaw.

Join us on a Georgia Conservancy Stewardship Trip to learn more about important location-specific conservation issues, as well as statewide advocacy opportunities. Our goal is simple: Create a connection between some of Georgia’s most precious places and the people needed to protect them.

*Registration opens to Georgia Conservancy members on December 16, 2019 at 5 PM and the General Public on December 18 at 5 PM
