Having been the Capital of Georgia during the Revolution in 1780 and later in 1865, the last meeting place of the Confederacy, Washington is known for its history. But on Saturday, April 6 at the 64th Annual Spring Tour of Homes, you can discover for yourself what else Washington is famous for…. Having the most antebellum homes per capita in America.

Nowhere does Spring quite like Washington. Far more than just a tour of homes, April 6 is actually a full day and evening of three entertaining events:

*The Spring Tour of Homes (10 a.m. – 5 p.m.)
*Artist Market & Show at The Livery (10 a.m. – 5 p.m.)

The Spring Tour of Homes is an amazing step back into time featuring select homes dating from as far back as 1790. You can also visit the Mary Willis Library, featuring simply must-see Tiffany stained-glass windows. Washington also has three of the best museums in the State that will be open during the tour: The Robert Toombs House (1797), The Washington Historical Museum (1835), and Callaway Plantation (1790). Complimentary shuttle service to the featured sites is provided. Tickets are available online at www.TourOfHomes.com on the day of the tour.

Held in conjunction with the tour is the Artist Market & Show. This curated show takes place in one of Washington’s eclectic event venues, The Court Street Livery, a restored 19th-century barn with soaring heart pine ceilings, brick walls, and antique hardware. Admission is free.

Treat yourself to a day of discovery in Washington. With tree-lined streets and a beautifully restored town square, Downtown is a pure delight. You’re sure to fall in love with Downtown Washington. Plan your exploration at WashingtonWilkes.org or call 706-678-2013.
