Milledgeville was once the capital of Georgia, and each December, the Old Governor’s Mansion transforms to a pre-Civil War Christmas for Antebellum Christmas at the Mansion. Every room is dressed with authentic period decorations, from streamers in the children’s room to poinsettias, holly branches and ribbons in the parlor. Tours are offered Nov. 19 – 22, 2017, and Nov. 28 – Dec. 22, 2017. For an especially unique experience, candlelight tours are available Dec. 9, 16, and 19.

Madison Holiday Tour of Homes

Madison is home to more than 100 antebellum homes and buildings, and each holiday season they are dressed in the best holiday finery and opened to the public. Madison's Holiday Tour of Homes takes place Nov. 30 - Dec. 2, 2017, mostly in the National Register Historic District. Houses on the day or candlelight tour are a mix of private homes, historic house museums and churches. Leave time before or after your tour to explore downtown Madison with its antique stores and sweet shops.
