As the seat of Dade County, the City of Trenton sits in a serene, fertile valley in the foothills of Appalachia between the peaks of Lookout Mountain to the east and the stately plateaus of Sand Mountain to the west.  Filled with Civil War legend and lore, the area is known to old timers as the "State of Dade."

From cave exploration to hang gliding, you can be sure to find plenty of fun no matter what your particular interests are.  Whether for a rollicking family vacation or a peaceful and romantic getaway, our little corner of the world offers the perfect setting.

With breathtaking natural beauty, opportunities for exploration and adventure, rich local history, and dozens of area attractions with a wide variety of appeal, the area draws a myriad of visitors all year long.

The long rides and sunny valleys make Dade County, Georgia one of the premier places in the work for hang gliding. Located high above the city of Trenton, Lookout Mountain Flight Park is the largest training facility in the United States, if not the world. A favorite for locals and visitors alike is watching the hang gliders flying thousands of feet above the valley. Others prefer to leisurely explore the art studios and shops scattered about in Trenton and nearby Rising Fawn.

Water, time and the soft stone typical of the Cumberland Plateau have combined to create some of the most spectacular caves and underground waterfalls in the world.  While most of these caves are accessible only to trained cavers, the public can tour several caverns in the area.

This is a mountain getaway yet to be discovered by the masses!
