The Altamaha River is the second-largest watershed on the East Coast and remains completely undammed. Crossed only five times by roads and twice by rail lines, its natural beauty is largely undisturbed. The Altamaha flows 137 miles from its formation by the Oconee and Ocmulgee rivers, north of Hazlehurst, to its delta on the Atlantic coast. Explore the Altamaha River during one of our scheduled canoe trips in June and September.

The Altamaha River was named one of the 75 Last Great Places on Earth by the Nature Conservancy. It is an ideal place to get back to nature whether you are a hunter, fisherman, boater, camper, bird watcher, or hiker.
