The Georgia Governor's Mansion serves as the primary residence for the presiding governor and first lady of Georgia. It is currently home to Governor Nathan Deal and First Lady Sandra Deal, Georgia's 82nd first-couple.

Built in 1968, the Georgia Governor's Mansion spans 18 acres of wooded grounds off West Paces Ferry Road in Atlanta, Georgia. The beautiful 24,000 square-foot house is designed to mimic Greek Revival architecture and is adorned with 30 Doric columns along the front porch.

The mansion's list of previous owners includes Lester Maddox, Jimmy Carter, George Busbee, Joe Frank Harris, Zell Miller, Roy Barnes, Sonny Perdue, and their respective families.

Recently, First Lady Sandra Deal and partners co-authored and released, Memories of the Mansion: The Story of Georgia's Governor's Mansion. This first-of-its-kind book serves the people of Georgia by providing them with the opportunity to experience the rich history of the Georgia Governor's Mansion as told through memories and behind-the-scenes stories of first families who have called the mansion "home."

As Governor Nathan Deal so eloquently put it, "All homes have a story to tell, and the Governor's Mansion is no exception." (taken from their site).
