Oscar-winning actress Susan Hayward lived in Carrollton with her husband Eaton Chalkley from 1957 until his death in 1966. She considered Carrollton her adopted hometown and was buried here next to her husband when she died in 1975. Her gravesite is located near the front entrance of Our Lady Of Perpetual Help RC Church on Old Centerpoint Road.

Visitors can pay their respects at the gravesite, and Susan's former ranch is visible (though not open for tours) across the road. Printed information about Susan Hayward's Carrollton days as well as a tour guide can be arranged at the Carrollton Visitors Center at 102 North Lakeshore Drive in Carrollton or by calling 800-292-0871.
