With mild temperatures and beautiful scenery, there is no better place to be than the North Georgia Mountains in the fall. Each October, the 9-day Georgia Mountain Fall Festival features exciting musical performances, educational demonstrations, a flower show and the ever-popular Georgias Official State Fiddlers' Convention.

During a selected weekend of the Georgia Mountain Fall Festival, the fairgrounds host Georgias Official State Fiddlers' Convention. Throughout the event, performers of all ages compete in various musical categories such as senior fiddler, junior fiddler, bluegrass band, finger-style guitar, flat pick guitar, banjo and mandolin. After initial competitions, a winner will be declared in each category. Then, the winner from both the junior and senior groups will complete in a "Fiddle Off," where that winner will be declared the "Georgia Mountain Fiddle King."

Enjoy music daily in The Anderson Music Hall and visit the flower show, arts and crafts displays, and the exhibit hall. Demonstrations will take you back to the "old ways" as local folks show how moonshine was made, quilting, soap and hominy making, a blacksmith shop and more. The Pioneer Village is a replica of an era gone by.
