Located at Reinhardt University, this is Georgia's official frontier and Southeastern Indian interpretive center. The Heritage Center is also certified by the National Park Service Trail of Tears as an interpretive site. The Bennett History Museum is focused on interpreting the history of the Southeastern Indians and Appalachian settlers of the region. In this modern facility, there are interactive exhibits, a 15-minute film, contemporary Native American art and thousands of historic hand tools displayed in a special gallery. Walking trails lead to a native plant garden and to the Appalachian Settlement located behind the museum facility. There, you will find 19th century farm buildings and historic log cabins. Visit the museum gift shop for unique items. Picnic tables are available on the grounds.
