Nearly 200 years old, Perry is steeped in rich history. The city has lived through wars, the birth of new innovations, and changes in culture and industry, among other historically significant events, and with its prime location at the intersection of Highways US 341, US 41, GA 127, and I-75, it has been influenced by generations of travelers and settlers who have come to stay here. Come follow along with us and discover some of the sites and stories that have made Perry the charming town we know and love today!

How It Works:
Choose a tour that interests you, or select “All Tour Stops” to be taken on a thorough journey around Perry. Each tour includes a list of sites and a map with icons representing sites. You can navigate through the tour by clicking on either a map icon or a site in the list, whichever is more convenient for you! When you open a site, you will find a description, images, and other content to help you fully uncover the history of that location. When you are finished viewing a site, simply head back to the map and select another!

Choose from 3 tours:

  1. Historic Downtown Tour - See the ways downtown Perry has evolved into what it is today. Check out what’s changed, what’s stayed the same, and even the pieces of history that have vanished over the years.
  2. Historic Homes Tour - Many homes around the city have housed prominent figures in Perry's history. Some even served other purposes as institutions or restaurants before they ever became what they are today.
  3. Historic Churches Tour - Perry is home to a plethora of quaint, picturesque churches with long, rich histories. Many started out as nothing but small wooden structures and have been relocated over time.
